OTTAWA — Exactly 29 years before the Toronto Maple Leafs emerged victorious from a taut and tense Battle of Ontario, Michael Nylander was nursing a personal playoff disappointment.

On his 29th birthday, William Nylander was reportedly close to being held out of the Toronto Maple Leafs' lineup due to a game sheet issue.

But before the puck even dropped in Game 6, a glaring error nearly resulted in William Nylander being ineligible to play. According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Nylander’s name was left off the official game sheet due to a number mix-up with his brother, Alex Nylander.
