The Yankees' ace underwent season-ending surgery in March, but he offered a positive update on his recovery in a media session on Monday.

Yankees ace Gerrit Cole had an internal brace put in his right elbow as part of Tommy John surgery on March 11 and while not projecting a date for his mound return understands the usual rehabilitation takes about 14 months.

Cole is about eight weeks removed from surgery, and he had his brace taken off about 2.5 weeks ago. He’s been at Yankee Stadium for physical therapy six days a week.
