For the first time since 2012, a Kansas men’s basketball team will soon take the court for a season without Norm Roberts on the sideline. Bill Self’s longtime assistant coach announced his retirement on Monday morning after 37 years of coaching.

After 37 years of coaching and 14 seasons with the Jayhawks, longtime assistant coach Norm Roberts is calling it a career. Roberts, a member of the ‘A STEP UP Assistant Coaches Hall of Fame,’ has been with Kansas head coach Bill Self since 1995.

Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball assistant coach Norm Roberts is retiring after 37 years of coaching the sport, he announced on Monday. Roberts is a member of the Assistant Coaches Hall of Fame. He coached 14 seasons at KU and was part of head coach Bill Self’s original staff for the 2003-04 season.
