Korea’s Kakao Teams Up With OpenAI To Develop AI Products
Billionaire Kim Beom-su ’s Kakao on Tuesday announced a partnership with OpenAI, including a deal to use the AI startup’s technology to power the South Korean internet giant’s new personalized AI tool and to co-develop new products tailored to Korean users.

Kakao also said it will use OpenAI technology for its products. The announcement was made by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Kakao CEO Chung Shina during a press conference in Seoul. Asked whether OpenAI is looking at investing in and joining Korea's AI computing centre project, Altman said the U.S. company is "actively considering" the move.
