Kansas City voters approved a $474 million bond for Kansas City Public Schools on Tuesday. Now, the district is wasting no time on getting started on the many projects proposed in the bond campaign.“The City of Kansas City and the School District’s successes intertwined.

The $474 million bond aims to address a $1 billion deficit caused by deferred maintenance and renovation projects in KC schools.

Kansas City Public Schools and three other districts saw bond issues passed by voters Tuesday, allowing them to fund construction projects and pay for maintenance. Five districts in the Kansas City area also held school board elections.
