The 100-year-old fountain on Detroit’s Belle Isle Park will shut down as soon as this week for a $6 million renovation. The project will silence the James Scott Memorial Fountain until spring 2027.

Updates will include new concrete beams and replacing the underlying fountain plumbing. The fountain isn't expected to run again until 2027.
