Volkswagen and Uber will bring autonomous VW ID. Buzz AD vans to Los Angeles starting in 2026, ahead of other US regions, with the goal of launching robotaxi operations under the Uber app. The automaker will begin testing its ID.

Developed by Volkswagen’s autonomous mobility arm, ADMT, in collaboration with MOIA, the ID. Buzz AD will operate with onboard safety drivers during its initial phase. The partnership aims to eventually expand across multiple U.S. cities over the next decade, bringing thousands of autonomous ride-hailing vehicles to market.
