HOUSTON — Houston police are searching for a suspect involved in an attempted carjacking near East Downtown late Monday night that left a woman injured. According to the Houston Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after 11:40 p.m. outside a nightclub on Milby Street near Preston Street.

A man accused of driving recklessly in northeast Houston was shot multiple times out of self-defense after brake-checking and blocking a vehicle, according to police.

"He's our victim, but again, more of a suspect, really," said Lt. R. Willkens with HPD. "Kind of a self-defense thing."
