The El Cerrito Plaza BART station reopened hours after shutting down because of a train that fatally struck someone who went onto the tracks, a spokesperson for the transit agency said.

A BART train hit and killed a person on the tracks at San Francisco Civic Center station Tuesday morning, closing the station temporarily and creating delays across the system, the agency said.
