Uber unveiled new policies and features, built with the guidance of disability advocates and experts, that it says will help create a more dependable experience for riders.

They’re not alone in saying they’ve experienced that kind of discrimination. Dozens of visually impaired people from all over the country converged at Uber headquarters in The City’s Mission Bay neighborhood Tuesday to protest their treatment by drivers who work for the ride-hailing giant or its chief rival, Lyft.

Blind people and their supporters were set to rally Tuesday against Uber and Lyft in San Francisco, claiming the ride share apps discriminate against them.
