A strong cold front is sweeping through North Texas, dropping temperatures significantly with highs in the upper 70s today.

North Texas - After a weekend of near-record October heat, North Texas is finally getting a taste of fall. The region will see the first of two cold fronts today, but how long will the cooler temperatures stick around?

Finally, fall temperatures are expected to arrive in Alabama. The National Weather Service is forecasting a big cooldown for the entire state next week. How about high temperatures in the 60s? What about a few lows in the 30s?

A cold front arrives at the very start of next week bringing even cooler conditions and more quiet weather. Daytime highs most of the week will be in the 60s to low 70s with morning lows mostly in the 40s.

The next few days will remain very hot across South Texas, but relief from the heat is possible next week as a cold front aims for Texas.
