The potential for fire danger from high winds and dry conditions have prompted a red flag warning for most of interior Northern California beginning Thursday night.

A fire watch issued for much of the Bay Area on Monday has been upgraded to a red flag warning, according to the National Weather Service. The warning will take effect Thursday at 11 p.m. and last through 5 p.

Much of the Bay Area and central coast will be under the Red Flag Warning between Thursday and Saturday due to dry and windy weather conditions.

We’re starting off the week with several chances of widespread frost and freezes as temperatures fall into the upper 20’s and low 30’s. But we see fire danger at critical or near critical levels for Wednesday and Thursday.
