Pete Alonso followed with a key insurance run after doubling and scoring on a Mark Vientos RBI single. Then came the exclamation point: Brandon Nimmo crushed a two-run homer off Cubs right-hander Gavin Hollowell, effectively sealing a 6-2 win for New York. Lindor delivered an emotional Mother's Day message after the win.

Lindor flipped his pink Mother's Day bat at home plate after his ninth home run and the Mets went on to score three more times in the inning to take rubber game of the series.
