Ange Postecoglou says Micky van de Ven could return for Tottenham in Thursday’s Europa League tie against Elfsborg, while James Maddison is expected to be sidelined for between two and three with a calf injury.

Tottenham continue to limp through the season with a lengthy injury list as they host Swedish club Elfsborg in the final league phase match of the Europa League.

Tottenham have been boosted by the fitness of Richarlison ahead of a crunch run of games for Ange Postecoglou. Richarlison was forced off in Sunday’s 2-1 home defeat to Leicester and Postecoglou confirmed after the game that the Brazilian was substituted because he “was feeling his groin”.
