After months of speculation, the Pittsburgh Steelers have traded veteran wide receiver George Pickens. Pittsburgh is sending him to the Cowboys, Dallas announced Wednesday. The Cowboys will send a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-rounder to Pittsburgh, while the Steelers will also include a 2027 sixth-round pick.

According to insider Jeremy Fowler, the Cowboys acquired George Pickens from the Steelers with the intention of letting him hit free agency in 2026.

However, the Cowboys' options at wide receiver haven't been up to par beyond Lamb. Brandin Cooks was their WR2 in 2023 with 54 receptions for 657 yards and eight touchdowns. Last season, Jalen Tolbert took over the role and managed 49 catches for 610 yards and seven scores.
