At least one person is dead and four others injured in a Palm Springs explosion outside of a fertility clinic, Assistant Director Akil Davis of the FBI said Saturday.

Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills reported that one person was killed in an incident that "appears to be an intentional act of violence."

The blast occurred around 11 a.m. in the 1100 block of North Indian Canyon Drive, either in or near an American Reproductive Centers fertility clinic which was extensively damaged. Some reports indicated the blast may have been a car explosion in a vehicle parked near the clinic.
