Discord Inc., the popular chat app, named a new chief executive officer, replacing co-founder and current CEO Jason Citron.

Jason Citron was a co-founder of the company, which is said to be working toward an initial public offering at some point this year.

Discord was conceived by Citron and Stanislav Vishnevskiy, who wanted to create something akin to a virtual living room where friends could chat with each other
