The former Cowboys coach is set to interview with the Chicago Bears for their head coach opening on Wednesday, a person with knowledge of Chicago’s thinking told The Dallas Morning News. The Cowboys’ exclusive negotiating window with McCarthy ends Tuesday at midnight.

Dallas joins the list of NFL teams in need of a head coach after the team could not come to terms on a new contract with McCarthy.

The Dallas Cowboys had to make one of the hardest decisions of Jerry Jones' ownership when they decided not to renew McCarthy's contract before Tuesday's deadline.  This was the right move, regardless of McCarthy's pedigree and success in the NFL-- even in Dallas.
