(CNN)– China has blacklisted the parent company of two American clothing brands. China’s Ministry of Finance put PVH Corp. on its “Unreliable Entities List.” This puts Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger clothing brands in the middle of a budding U.S. – China trade war.

China placed Calvin Klein owner PVH Corp. and US gene sequencing company Illumina Inc. to a so-called blacklist of entities, among a series of retaliatory actions after new tariffs ordered by President Donald Trump took effect Tuesday.
