Great to see this world famous landmark. Easy to get to on foot and well worth the trip. No waiting on line, just roll up and have a look. Recommend.Full review by R1922JDmattt

It was quite the walk after the Smithsonian with the kids but we made it! Our youngest (5) actually loved the ceiling of all things and our 11 year old had a lot of questions about Lincoln afterwards…Full review by victoriamccracken

Honestly, take the metro into town and get off at the Smithsonian stop. That places you roughly in the middle of the National Mall. They have a red bus called the DC circulator that you can ride for free and it will take you to all of the major stops. Or you can take a stroll around to see all of the monuments and museums.
Hi, We will visit Washington this summer. How long did you take at each monument? We are staying close by so will probably start out really early to try and avoid the main crowds! We have to be at the Capitol Building for 10:15 and would like to get Lincoln, Korean, Vietnam and Washington monuments seen before that. We hope to be at the White House (just to take a picture and not stop) for 8:00. Do you think that would be sufficient time? We will be on foot but are all fit and healthy! Thank you! Bev

Pretty tough to get them all in. Worth researching, pick your top 3 or 4 and go from there if time allow. The Museum of natural history, Lincoln memorial, with the view of the mall, right next door to the Vietnam wall, and the Botanical gardens are great stops on your way. Also fun to buy a knock off Rolex a block from the Whitehouse ;0)
