Hailes Abbey is right out in the countryside. Why did these monks live in such inaccessible places for present day tourists! The car park was very muddy and the site was not easy to access in a wheel…Full review by Ken S

You can’t actually visit the site as has already been stated we are closed, there is CCTV which is monitored and I’m likely to get a call from security. You CAN visit Hailes Church opposite the Abbey, priming our car park adjacent to the church which for now is free but likely to incur a charge at some point. The Cotswold Way runs along side 2 of our sides and you can look in. We reopen to the public on Monday 1 April, no really, 1 April. Steve Site Manager

Not really. In order to keep doing our essential heritage conservation work, both at Hailes Abbey and at other English Heritage sites, we charge an admission fee at Hailes Abbey. Members of English Heritage and, at this site, the National Trust, can gain free entry. All others must pay the admission fee and visit between our daily opening times in July and August of 10am till 6.00pm. From September until 4 November we will e open daily between 10am and 5.00pm. Last visitor admissions are 30 mins before these closing times. We accept no liability should any person access the site after hours when it is closed and locked and we would respectfully ask that people visit only when we are open and when you can help us look after precious sites like Hailes. We look forward to seeing you during our opening hours.
Q:
