I would say that there is not any room to fly a kite at this park. We are regulars at Unicoi Hill Park and there isn't enough room to comfortably fly a kite. I can tell you there is a PERFECT spot located inside Unicoi State Park. If you go over the bridge at Unicoi Lake and right past the lodge there will be a road on your right, turn there and take it down to the parking lot.(there is a sign that says, tennis courts, fishing, recreation area-Unicoi Bottoms Rd.) There is a huge open area with fire pit in the far corner. Lots of room to run around, we flew kites there just a couple weeks ago! There still is a parking fee of $5 and it is taken on the honor system. There will be a place for you to drop your envelope and get a tag.
