Tynemouth RNLI station is situated on the East Quayside at North Shields, just inside the mouth of the River Tyne on the North East coast of England. The station and its volunteer crew provide round-the-clock marine search and rescue. The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We provide a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK and RoI, as well as a seasonal lifeguard service on many of the busiest beaches in England and Wales. The RNLI also works to promote sea and beach safety and has an ongoing Respect the Water campaign which aims to reduce UK & Eire coastal drownings by half, by 2024.
