There are no signs forbidding it, but I know the locals take a very dim of it and it does have a private beach status. I imagine you might be able to use a disposable bbq, but would need to be very careful disposing of it - there have been several fires where they've been put in a bin. Sparks could be a problem as there are a lot of wooden buildings along the beach. Definitely not a fire on the beach - causes damage and pollution on a site of scientific interest, and the stones explode.
