Lincolnshire is bordered by Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland to the south, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire to the west, and the East Riding of Yorkshire across the Humber estuary to the north. The county town is the city of Lincoln.
