Hi there. Do you think hiking boots are needed for the hanging lake trail? I have a thick bottomed gripping rain boot which I think would be best if it ends up raining but I am unsure if they are useful in dry conditions and I don't have regular hiking boots.

I hiked in regular tennis shoes. But it was summer and pretty dry at that time. Hiking poles were super helpful. Not really because I slipped but more just to help balance on the uneven terrain.
How do you reserve a spot on the hike? Or can you just show up and pay fee with family of 5?

Did you have cell service there so I may pick up my son?

Don’t count on having cell service. Neither my wife (Sprint) nor I (Verizon) had service back in April 2018. If I remember correctly l, we lost it even before we pulled into the parking area.
Hi we’re planning for Hanging Lake trip on May 12th which’s a Saturday around 8 a.m. Will a parking spot be available at that time? I recently heard that we’re supposed to purchase a ticket for parking beforehand. If so where do I buy the ticket?
