I want to spend a full day in Lockport and see the museum, underground ride, and the locks. Hints and suggestions on a good order; I'm sensing see the museum first? Other "not to miss" attractions between here and Niagara Falls? Best place to eat in Lockport?

Starting at the museum is good. Then do the cave tour (drive over or walk). I believe they will also include a tour of the locks (have not done the caves in 5 years). If not, after the cave, go walk the locks yourself - they are just across the street from the cave tour. There is a person who mans the locks and he/she will tell you about them, plus there is a museum at the 'bottom' of the locks. You can then take a boat ride which takes you through the locks (I think it is a 1 hour trip total - you start past the locks (lower level), go up through the locks, turn around and then go back down. Those would be the 3 biggest attractions in that area (you will want to drive to the boat ride - it down at the bottom of Market St which is not an easy walk). When we were there we also saw advertisement for a Zip Line across the canal. I cannot tell you anything about it though. As for places to eat, Reid's is a very old mom & pop hamburger dive within a mile of where you will be. Folks flock to this place from all over (including us). Hamburg, fries, chocolate shake is our usual order. They have outdoor seating. Ambiance is a 2 out of 10 but we have eaten there for over 30 when we come to town. If you like wings, go to Wagners on Tuesday for fifty cent wings. Go early (4PM) - they are always packed that day. Another good place is Davidson Road Inn (DRI), but they are about 5 miles from the locks. There are places right around the locks to eat but we have not done them recently. Have fun!
